Journey to Unity Wraps Up With Event at McNichols Building

Journey 2 Unity (J2U), a project created by high school-aged youth in Arts Street’s creative industry academy this summer, explored the potential to change negative opinions and strengthen positive perceptions about immigration. Their work culminated in Our Immigrant Stories, an event at the McNichols building in Civic Center Park on September 19. Read more about it on a blog post by Arts Street Intern Zipporah R.

Arts Street Youth Design Large-scale Art Piece

In October the Colorado High School Charter Arts Street team finished their work on the designs for the new Denver Housing Authority central office stairwell art. Youth spent almost nine weeks working with the client, learning about digital design, using new materials and techniques to bring their own concepts to life. They united as a team to create the final elements for this eight story, 17 ft. wide project that will be an exciting part of the new building. Their work continues into November as they team up with partner artists and architects to finalize this piece for printing. Amazing hard work!
